Hero of the 9th round of the First League Pidruchny: Metalist can get into the championship group

This time, the jury of Sport Arena and the PFL had no reason to doubt for a long time about the best player of the tour in the First League – central midfielder Pidruchny with his brace brought Metalist victory over the Carpathians, thanks to which the Kharkov club holds the fourth place – passed! – position in Group A.

The hero of the ninth round in the First League, Denis Podruchny, shared with Sport Arena his impressions of the victory over Prykarpattia (2:1), and also noted the ambitious goals of the team.

– How pleasant is it for you to be recognized as the best player of the tour in the First League?

– Of course, it’s a pleasure to win this honorable nomination. I’m happy that the team was able to win and this adds even more optimism.

– Metalist couldn’t win before the match with Minai. Can we say that after that match your team was somewhat relieved psychologically?

“The victory gave the team confidence in their own abilities. We work hard, but we haven’t been able to win. After the match with Minai, we breathed a sigh of relief and continued to move forward to new matches.

– What were your expectations from the match with Prykarpattya? Did you understand that your opponents would play vertically and that you had to first not give in in the fight?

– We expected a lot of fighting on every piece of the field. Prykarpattya always stands out for its fighting qualities and dedication. It’s not easy with such opponents, but we achieved our goal.

– An active and aggressive start to the meeting – was that the coaching mindset?

– We played at home and had to impose our game on the opponent from the first minutes. We are happy that we were able to score a quick goal, which gave us confidence.

– Already in the 11th minute after Kaidalov’s pass, you opened the scoring. Do you pay a lot of attention to passes to the second line in training?

“We work a lot on this in training and are happy that we were able to implement our developments in the game. Theoretically, coaches constantly emphasize that the second zone is dangerous both in attack and defense.

– How much easier did it become for the team to play after scoring a goal or did nothing change?

– After the goal was scored, there were no significant changes. We continued to dominate and tried to increase our advantage as quickly as possible. We managed to score at the beginning of the second half, but conceded quite quickly. At the end of the meeting we played by score and retained the advantage.

– What did the coaching staff focus on during the break? Functionally, did you feel that you were superior to your opponent?

– It was important not to press against your goal. We had to not allow the opponent to put pressure on our defense. Prykarpattia is always very well prepared in functional terms, but we are not inferior to them in this component either.

– In the 55th minute, you increased Metalist’s advantage with a superb shot into the corner of the goal. Are you always on the rebound after the standards? Is this a fake situation?

– During training, each player has his own area of ​​responsibility. We pay great attention to standard provisions. It is important that we manage to implement our developments during the games.

– Do you remember when you were distinguished by a double before?

– I have never managed to score twice in official matches before. However, I hope that this is not my last take.

– Do you agree that this was your team’s best defensive game, since they didn’t allow the opponent to create anything?

– It was a fairly high-quality match played by our team, but the opponent still managed to score, so we didn’t play perfectly in defense. There is no limit to perfection. You have to work even harder and then everything will work out. It is important that the team improves in all game components this season.

– Now the team is in fourth place. Is Metalist capable of competing for the champion group or are there no such tasks?

– Our goal is to win every match. If we play our best football, we will succeed. A metalhead can get into the champion group.

– In the next round you will play against Agribusiness. Surely you want to become the first team to take points from the leader? You even won on the road, and then missed twice…

– We understand that a very difficult game awaits us. Agribusiness is a playing team that is impressive this season. We expect to score points, although we understand that it will not be easy.

– Do you remember your first steps in football? How satisfied are you with your play at the youth level?

– In my opinion, I played quite well at the youth level. Of course, I always want more, but I am satisfied with myself.

– Perhaps you had to play with some of the current football stars?

– In Shakhtar and the youth team I played together with Trubin, Mudryk and Sikan. Even then it was clear that they would become football stars. It was a pleasure to play with such players.
