The Ukrainian distinguished himself with a wonderful alley-oop
Ukrainian center Dmitry Skapintsev made his debut with Boston Celtics.
Yesterday the Celtics had a sparring match with the Denver Nuggets – 107:103. Skapintsev spent a little over four minutes on the court, distinguishing himself with a spectacular alley-oop.
In September, Skapintsev signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Celtics. The Exhibit 10 agreement is for one year, has a minimum salary and can include bonuses of up to $75,000.
The 26-year-old Ukrainian signed a two-way contract with the New York Knicks last December. Last season, Dmitry only appeared on the court twice in the NBA – he played a total of just over two minutes in two matches, without being particularly productive.
Skapintsev actively participated in NBA Summer League matches this offseason, and in one of them – against Detroit – he even scored a double-double (17 points + 10 rebounds).
Last season, Boston won the long-awaited championship—the Celtics’ first triumph since 2008. In the final series, Boston defeated Dallas (4:1) in five matches.
Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk played last season with the Celtics, becoming the second Ukrainian in history to win the NBA title.
