Rivne club will play with Zorya today
Acting head coach Veresa Oleg Shandruk commented on the performance of his team at the start of the Ukrainian Championship 2024/25. The coach emphasized that he expects progress from his players.
“We definitely understand that we have reformatted the team a little. Our team has changed, as has its average age, there are many young players.”
“Again we say that all this takes time. What we see now in the training process, good periods in games, we hope that all this will progress and we will continue to gain the number of points that we are counting on.”
“How worried are we about our position in the standings? As a head coach, I try to just concentrate on the daily work and that’s why I don’t worry. I hope the players don’t have it either. We talk a lot about what today is and we have to get better.”
“As for the place in the standings and the additional fight for survival, I am positive about the play-offs because they add intrigue at the end of the season. This is interesting for the fans.”
“The second point: our goal this season is not to get into the play-offs and finish higher in the table. We need to take a step forward, and we will try to do this. Again, eight rounds is enough information, but not enough to understand where the team will be at the end of the season.”
The Rivne club scored six points from eight matches and is in 14th place in the standings. Today Veres will play a match with Zarya. The game starts at 13:00.
