Andrey Lunin will not play due to a viral infection, Andrey Yarmolenko is injured
Head coach Ukrainian national team Sergey Rebrov called Shakhtar’s goalkeeper Dmitry Riznyk and midfielder Polesie Alexandra Nazarenko for matches Nations League 2024/25 in October.
Riznyk will replace in the team Andrey Luninwho will not be able to come due to a viral infection. Nazarenko is called in instead Andrey Yarmolenkowho was injured in the match with Krivbass.
Let us remind you that Yarmolenko entered the blue-yellow lineup instead of the injured Viktor Tsygankov. Also, compared to the initial list, Alexander Svatok, Vitaly Buyalsky and Ivan Kalyuzhny were called up to the team.
On September 7, the blue-yellows, in a formal home match of the 1st round of Group B1 of the 2024/25 Nations League, were defeated by Albania – 1:2. Three days later, Sergei Rebrov’s team lost to the Czech Republic (2:3) in a productive match of the 2nd round. Both fights took place in Prague.
The Ukrainian national team will play its next match on October 11 against Georgia, and on October 14 it will play against the Czech Republic. Both games will be nominally “home” for the Ukrainian team and will be held in Poznan and Wroclaw, Poland.
The Ukrainian team closes the standings of Group B1. Albania and the Czech Republic have three points each after two rounds, Georgia is in the lead with two victories.
