Grigorchuk officially left Neftchi

The Azerbaijani club announced the termination of the contract by mutual consent

Ukrainian mentor Roman Grigorchuk officially left Neftchi. The Azerbaijani club announced the termination of the contract by mutual consent of the parties.

Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian coach stopped working at the club from Baku and agreed on this decision with the management. There was also information that the Ukrainian at the head of Neftchi could be replaced by the ex-coach of the Turkish national team Fatih Terim.

Let us remember that Grigorchuk took charge of Neftchi in June. The ex-coach of Chernomorets, Gabala, Astana, Zaporozhye Metallurg and other clubs signed a two-year agreement.

Under his leadership, the team was never able to win this championship of Azerbaijan. In 9 rounds, Neftchi drew five times and suffered four defeats.

Neftchi will fight his next match on October 19 at home against Sabail. Neftchi ranks ninth in the Azerbaijani Championship standings.
