The Ukrainian forward played for the first time this season as part of the club’s youth team
Ukrainian forward Sunderland Nazariy Rusin distinguished himself as a member of the club’s youth team.
Sunderland U-21 hosted Derby County U-21 at home – Rusin came into the starting lineup and scored in the 87th minute of the match. His team eventually won a crushing victory with a score of 6:0, and Nazariy himself spent the entire 90 minutes on the field.
For Rusin, this appearance on the field as part of the club’s youth team was his debut of the season. In the 2024/25 campaign, the forward took part in 6 matches of the Sunderland main team in the Championship, without being particularly productive.
Let us remind you that Rusin moved to Sunderland from Zorya in early September 2023, signing a 4-year contract with an option to extend for another season. Last season, the Ukrainian was a rotation player in the club, playing 21 matches in the Championship, scoring two goals and one assist.
The Sunderland main team will play their next match on October 20 away against Hull City in the Championship.
