Shakhtar’s future rival Young Boys sacked Ramen as head coach

The Swiss team will be led on a temporary basis, and not for the first time, by club legend Magnin

Young Boys officially announced his separation from the head coach Patrick Ramen. The acting coach of the main team will become (not for the first time) Yoel Magnin.

55-year-old Ramen only took over the Yellow-Blacks this summer. He immediately led the team to the general stage of the Champions League, beating Galatasaray twice (3:2, 1:0). However, the season continued badly for Young Boys: only six points in the championship and last place after nine rounds, as well as two defeats in the Champions League with a total score of 0:8.

Manyin, 53, has worked almost continuously for the Young Boys since 2002. First – as a player (four years until he retired). Then – in various coaching positions in the club structure (with short breaks at Xamax and Zurich).

In recent years, Magnin has been coaching the U-21 club team. Experience “i. O.” This is not new for him – in the 2023/24 season, Yoel already led the first team of the Yellow-Blacks for three months.

Young Boys is one of Shakhtar’s opponents in the general stage of the 2024/25 Champions League. The team from Bern will face the Miners in the fourth round, on November 6th.
