Shevchenko: We strived for the design of the new kit to become a symbol of the unity and strength of the Ukrainian football community

The head of the UAF spoke about the resumption of cooperation with Adidas and the criteria for selecting a new technical partner

President Ukrainian Football Association Andrey Shevchenko officially commented on the resumption of cooperation with Adidas as a technical partner of the Association and title sponsor of national football teams.

“Our goal was to attract a reputable brand that would not only represent our national team, but also meet the expectations of the Ukrainian football community.”

“Looking back, I remembered our previous partnership with Adidas and decided to personally meet with Bjorn Gulden, the company’s CEO, at their headquarters in Germany. After careful discussions with the team, we have concluded that Adidas is the best choice for a new technical partner.”

“Selecting a new technical sponsor was a complex process. We chose Adidas based on their experience in introducing innovative technologies and using quality materials. In addition, this brand has a long history of cooperation with the world’s leading teams, which are again joined by the Ukrainian national team.”

“We wanted our kit design to become a symbol of the unity and strength of the Ukrainian football community. The first kit in partnership with Adidas is inspired by the country’s national colors.”

Let us remind you that today the UAF and Adidas officially presented the new uniform of the Ukrainian national team for the 2024/25 season. The equipment is already available to fans in Adidas stores and on the manufacturer’s official website.

New home and away kits with three stripes on the shoulders and the slogan “Glory to Ukraine!” The colors of the Ukrainian flag are displayed on the back. The uniform honors the connection between Ukrainian culture and football.

The kits feature AERO READY technology, which uses moisture-wicking or moisture-absorbing materials to keep the body dry, and includes breathable mesh panels for the comfort of both players on the field and fans supporting the team. The collection is made from 100% recycled materials, continuing Adidas’ strategy to reduce plastic waste.

Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian national team would initially receive a standard uniform from the German brand. The development of an exclusive design from Adidas is already at the finish line. The kit should be approved at the end of October, but the uniform should be expected in about a year.

The Ukrainian team will play its next match on October 11 against Georgia, and on October 14 it will play against the Czech Republic. Both games will be nominally “home” for the Ukrainian team and will be held in Poznan and Wroclaw, Poland.
