Three-time NBA champion Danny Green announces retirement

He is one of four players in the history of the Association who was able to win three championship titles with different teams

Legend NBA Danny Green officially announced his retirement.

“I am officially retiring from basketball, from the NBA. It’s been a great journey. I’m very proud to be able to retire from the game. “I’ve come to terms with it,” said the 37-year-old basketball player.

The shooting guard was selected by Cleveland in the 2009 draft. Then he became a long-term player in San Antonio, with whom he won the championship title in 2014.

At the end of the last decade, Danny twice became the mascot for his new teams. After spending a season each with Toronto and the Lakers, Green became champions with both teams.

After Los Angeles, the defenseman spent two years in Philadelphia, followed by short stints in Memphis and (repeatedly) Cleveland. In September 2023, Green was signed again by Philadelphia, but in November, having only managed to appear on the court twice, the veteran was expelled.

In total, Green played 832 games in the association with averages of 8.7 points and 3.4 rebounds.

The 2024-25 NBA regular season will begin on October 22 and end on April 13, 2025. The play-in tournament will take place from April 15 to 18.
