The Greeks got three wins in three rounds and lead the group
England team unexpectedly lost at the legendary Wembley Greece in the match of the third round of division B League of Nations – 1:2.
The Greeks took the lead early in the first half, but Konstantinos Mavropanos’ goal was disallowed for offside. After the break, Greece scored according to the rules – the scoring shot was scored by Benfica forward Evangelos Pavlidis.
In the 83rd minute, Pavlidis scored again, but the goal was canceled due to another offside. And four minutes later, Jude Bellingham equalized the score on the scoreboard with a targeted strike.
The end of the match came in stoppage time. Pavlidis took advantage of the confusion in the England penalty area and sent the ball into the net, giving Greece victory.
England is second in Group 2 Division B with six points. Greece has won all three matches and leads the quartet.
In the next round, England will play away against Finland, and Greece will host Ireland. The matches are scheduled for October 13.
