Liverpool are interested in the player
New information has emerged about the defender’s potential transfer Benfica Alvaro Carreras V Liverpool.
The Reds will have to fork out cash for the 21-year-old Spaniard. The Eagles intend to get 50 million euros for the player.
Carreras previously played for Manchester United’s youth and youth teams and also spent a season in the Championship playing for Preston.
In the summer of 2024, Benfica bought the Spaniard’s contract from Manchester United for 6 million euros after the player successfully spent the second part of last season in Lisbon on loan.
In addition to Benfica, Carreras is also a key member of the Spain U-21 national team, which has already guaranteed itself access to Euro 2025.
This season, Alvaro Carreras played nine matches for Benfica in all competitions, without scoring any goals.
Benfica, for which Ukrainian goalkeeper Anatoly Trubin plays, is in third place in the Portuguese championship. Bruno Lage’s team will play their next match on October 19 as part of the national cup against Pevidem. Liverpool, in turn, will host Chelsea at home on October 20 in the Premier League.
