Pogba: I feel like a child who wants to become a professional again

From March, the disgraced Frenchman will be able to take part in official matches

Midfielder Juventus Paul Pogba stated that he had rethought his life and was ready to resume his career with a “clean slate.”

“This will definitely be the new Pogba. Sure. Even better than before. More hungry and determined. I feel like a kid who wants to become a professional again. This is what drives me.”

Let’s remember that in early October, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) considered Pogba’s appeal and reduced the period of his disqualification from four years to 18 months. Thus, starting in January 2025, Pogba can return to training at the club, and starting in March, he can take the field in official matches.

However, the 31-year-old footballer is unlikely to have a successful future at Juventus – Bianconeri general director Maurizio Scanavino recently said that the midfielder would leave the club and become a free agent. It has been reported that Paul is already in talks with Marseille over a move in the winter transfer window. MLS and Saudi Arabia clubs also requested information about the player. The other day it became interesting about the interest from Los Angeles FC.

Last fall, the Frenchman was caught doping – testosterone was found in his tests; a repeat test confirmed the result. In February 2024, the Italian National Anti-Doping Tribunal officially handed Paul the maximum ban of four years, but Pogba exercised his legal right to appeal against the decision.

Pogba returned to Juventus from Manchester United in the summer of 2022. The Frenchman last appeared on the field on September 3, 2023 against Empoli (2:0). Paul’s current contract with the Turin club runs until June 2026.
