The appeal committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) partially upheld the complaint “Rostov” regarding the amount of the fine due to the incident with the former sports director “Orenburg” Dmitry Andreev, according to the RFU website.
At the end of August, the RFU ethics committee suspended Andreev from football activities for three years, two of which were suspended, and also fined him 300,000 rubles for physical influence on the referee of the match with Rostov and obscene language. Rostov was fined 350,000 rubles for failing to provide security, endangering match officials. The club later appealed this decision.
— On Thursday, October 17, a meeting of the RFU Appeal Commission was held, at which the following decisions were made: to partially satisfy the complaint of the Rostov football club against the decision of the RFU CDC of August 23, 2024. To modify the decision of the CDC RFU of August 23, 2024 and to clarify it as follows: “In accordance with article 101 of the RFU disciplinary regulations and paragraph 22 of appendix no. 1 of the disciplinary regulations from the RFU for failure to ensure security endangering the safety of match officials – fine in Rostov of 200,000 rubles. Warn that in the event of a new violation, “more severe sanctions will be applied to the club”, specifies the text of the decision.
It was also decided to refuse to act on Andreev’s complaint against the decision of the RFU ethics committee of August 30, 2024.
