Malinovsky’s ex-partner in Genoa hung up his boots at the age of 34
Famous former national team midfielder Netherlands, and also Roma, Marseille, Genoa and other clubs Kevin Strootman announced his retirement from his professional career.
On his social media profile, the 34-year-old Dutchman posted a black and white photo of himself with the logos of all the teams he played for, accompanied by the caption:
“Career is coming to an end. Thank you, football.”
Let us remember that 34-year-old Kevin played last season in Genoa (29 matches, two assists), where he was a teammate (and sometimes competitor) of the Ukrainian midfielder Ruslan Malinovsky. In May, the experienced football player decided to leave the club at the end of the season.
In addition to Genoa, Strootman played for Sparta Rotterdam, Utrecht, PSV, Roma (2013 – 2018), Marseille and Cagliari during his career.
For the Dutch national team, the central midfielder played 46 matches over eight years (2011 – 2019), scoring three goals and four assists. At the same time, Kevin did not appear on major forums: the disastrous Euro 2012 for Oranje sat in the reserves, and missed the successful 2014 World Cup (third place) due to a serious injury.
