Michel: I’m worried about Tsygankov, who was in good shape

Girona will host Real Sociedad on October 19

Head coach Girona Michel commented on the condition of the players after a pause in the games of national teams. The mentor noted the recovery of the Ukrainian winger Viktor Tsygankova.

“I have always said that I worry about players like David Lopez, Solis, Yangel Herrera or Tsygankov because their careers made us realize that they might have to give their all, playing every three days. We have other reliable players like Blind and Porto, but we had some injured players that we didn’t expect. The fact that you play three tournaments for your team may have an impact on you. We are working to prevent this from happening, watching the minutes, doing rotations. After the break it was the other way around, no one has recovered from that yet.”

“At the moment, everything is fine with David, with Yangel too… I’m worried about Tsygankov, who was in excellent shape. Everything is getting better now.”

Tsygankov was injured in early October in a Champions League match against Feyenoord (2:3). It was reported that the Ukrainian will miss about 5 weeks due to an injury to the biceps femoris tendon of his left leg.

Girona is in 11th place in La Liga with 12 points. Michel’s team will next play against Real Sociedad on October 19.
