Bayern sports director Eberl: We are negotiating with Sane’s agents to extend his contract

The winger’s current deal expires at the end of the season.

Sports director Bavaria Max Eberl confirmed that the club is negotiating a contract extension with the winger Leroy Sane.

“We are negotiating with his agents. We will announce the decision when there is something to announce. Now the most important thing is to focus on the field,” the functionary said.

Leroy’s current contract ends in the summer of 2025. From January, the player will have the right to sign a contract with another team without compensation for the Munich team. Bayern intends to extend the contract with the player until 2028.

Some Premier League clubs are reported to be monitoring the situation. Manchester United showed interest in the winger. Barcelona is also interested in signing the 28-year-old footballer.

Sane missed the start of this season due to injury, and after returning to the game he never appeared on the field in the first team of Bayern. The winger has only four substitute appearances, after which he managed to score one goal.

Bayern leads the Bundesliga with 14 points. In the next round, Munich will host Stuttgart on October 19.
