Daniil played his first match after the injury
Forward Shakhtar Daniil Sikan commented on his return to the football field after injury and the victory over Kolos (1:0) in the 10th round of the UPL.
“The path was not easy, because I got off track. Injuries for a football player are always unpleasant; you especially don’t want to be kicked out of the team with such a calendar and miss even a day or two, but I missed much more. However, I worked every day to come back stronger.”
“No worries, thank God. I continue to work and hope that everything will be fine. It’s a little difficult, because it’s unusual to play with a mask on your face; it makes it difficult to see and navigate. However, it takes some getting used to. Not for long, maybe this was my last game in a mask. I don’t know for sure yet, but I’ve been told that the game with Colossus will probably be the last time I wear a mask.”
“Very difficult match. We know that away matches with Kolos are difficult. However, we won an important victory and we need to make the most of every game, because we lost a lot of points. They defend very well and concede few goals all season. We understand that they do not let their opponents play and they themselves play simply. It’s difficult to play against teams like this because they all defend together and attack together, which is a very good quality.”
The forward has recovered from a nose injury, which he received back in mid-September. Daniil trained in a special protective mask.
This season, Sican has made seven appearances for the club in all competitions. The forward scored three goals in them.
Shakhtar takes fourth place in the Ukrainian championship. In the next match, the Pitmen will play away against Arsenal on October 22 in the Champions League. After this, Marino Pusic’s team will play a match with Dynamo in the Premier League on October 27.
