Left Bank in the 10th round of the UPL managed to take points from Polesie in Zhitomir (0:0)
Head coach Left Bank Vitaly Pervak commented on his team’s draw in the away match against Polesie (0:0).
“Today we played football. We play our own football, the team has qualified footballers, we know their capabilities. And the fact that we won only one point today in Zhitomir against Polesie, against one of the leaders of the championship, is a plus. These are important psychological moments that the team should only receive through their work.”
“We calmly prepared for this match. We tried to play according to a different scheme. Our goal was to block the opportunities for scoring our goals, because Polesie likes to play through flank passes, run in from deep to finish – we rebuilt and played our game. It was necessary to block everything possible and impossible at our gates.”
“And the fact that there would be zones behind the defenders of Polesie – we knew that they would arise, and we had to take advantage of it. There were cases, but, unfortunately, they could not. And this is where our individual skill let us down, because there were many opportunities to score, and today we did a lot ahead. The team ran forward, they were not afraid of anything, they played little because of the back pass, they passed more forward.”
“Are we going to praise the players in the locker room? Necessarily! We are pleased with their attitude towards the game. If I put my hand on my heart, I’m happy with today’s game as a whole.”
Left Bank again failed to score – in 8 out of 10 UPL matches, the Kiev team left the field without scoring a goal. However, Vitaly Pervak’s team has 8 points – he has two goalless draws (in addition to Polesie, there was a 0:0 with Kolos) and victories over Veres (3:1) and Chernomorets (1:0).
The newcomer to the elite division is located in the play-off zone – in 14th position in the tournament table.
In the next round of the UPL, Left Bank will play against Zorya on October 27 at home.
