The Miami stadium will host the opening match of the tournament on June 15
Inter Miami officially announced as 31st member Club World Cup 2025. Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium will host opening match tournament.
“Congratulations on your remarkable success in the 2024 Supporters’ Shield. You have shown that in the United States you are consistently the best club on the playing field,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
“I am therefore proud to announce that, as one of the best clubs in the world, you are a proud participant in the new 2025 FIFA Club World Cup as the host club representing the United States. We look forward to welcoming you to the opening match in Miami on Sunday, June 15, 2025.”
The team of Lionel Messi and Sergei Krivtsov won the MLS regular championship. Inter Miami will occupy the quota intended for teams representing the hosts of the event. The last participant in the list of teams for the 2025 World Cup remains to be determined.
The Hard Rock Stadium seats 65 thousand spectators. In addition to the opening match, the arena will host the quarterfinals and the bronze medal match. Let us remind you that the final will take place in New York at the MetLife Stadium. The stadium seats 82,500 and is home to the NFL’s New York Giants and New York Jets.
The Club World Championship in the new format will be held from June 15 to July 13, 2025. The tournament will take place in the USA, and 32 clubs (8 groups of 4 teams each) from six confederations will take part.
It was reported that all 12 participants in the 2025 World Cup from Europe have been decided: Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, PSG, Inter, Porto, Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Salzburg.
Many are unhappy with the holding of the 2025 World Cup in the summer. The European Leagues (EL), FIFPRO Europe (the International Federation of Professional Footballers’ Associations) and the Spanish La Liga filed a complaint against the FIFA international calendar, and the head of La Liga, Javier Tebas, called for the cancellation of the Club World Cup.
