Babich: High-quality work in wrestling was not enough to defeat Veres

Mentor Moryakov noted that his team dreamed of winning, but could not withstand the pressure from the guests after the break

Head coach Chernomorets Alexander Babich commented on his team’s draw in the home match of the 10th round Ukrainian Premier League against Veresa (1:1).

“We played a draw with a direct competitor. Of course, we dreamed of winning today. But we understand our mistakes. To be honest, in the second half we lost a lot of fights, made mistakes and were nervous. What caused it – we need to figure it out. We will try to correct these shortcomings.”

“Replacement for Yaroslav Kisil? He couldn’t cope with his emotions. Having received a yellow card, we were afraid that he might get a second one. There are no comments about his performance.”

“A draw is a natural result. Veres is a very difficult team. Veres, the same Ingulets, is approximately our level in selecting performers.”

“The most important thing for us now is to score points. But today we didn’t have enough quality work in the fight to win and we couldn’t withstand the pressure from Veres in the second half.”

Let us remind you that two neighbors in the standings shared points in Odessa today. The home team won the first half thanks to an own goal from Evgeniy Morozko. The guests came back after the break through the efforts of Semyon Vovchenko.

Chernomorets scored 11 points and is in ninth place in the UPL. In the next round, the Sailors will play away against Rukh on October 25.
