Igor is a legend of the team, having spent more than seven years as a member of the team.
Ternopil Niva and midfielder Igor Gatala terminated cooperation by mutual agreement of the parties.
At 26, the footballer is a veteran of the team, having gone with it from amateur football to the First League. Over seven and a half years, Igor played 177 matches with Niva and scored 14 goals.
In January 2021, Gatala was close to moving to Metalist 1925, but Niva did not want to loan the player out. Subsequently, the club extended Igor’s contract until the end of 2024.
This season, the attacking midfielder, who can play on any flank or in the center, entered the field 10 times, received two yellow cards, and did not score any effective actions.
Niva, having scored six points in ten matches, closes the standings of Group A of the First League. During the season, the Ternopil team managed to change its head coach: Yuriy Virt was appointed to replace Evgeniy Kalinichenko, who had led Niva since June.
