The Ukrainian played only two matches for the club this season
Head coach Arsenal Mikel Arteta spoke about the return to action of the Ukrainian defender Alexandra Zinchenko.
“Yes, I hope he will be an important player. Obviously we need him to be fit, availability is a big factor in maintaining consistency and we had quite a few problems with that last year. And at the beginning of this season too. Hopefully now he’s fit we can start to use him and he can start to influence the team in the way he can, in a big way.”
Let us remind you that the 27-year-old Ukrainian suffered a calf muscle injury before the match with Tottenham (1:0) on September 15. In mid-October, Arteta said that Alexander was close to returning to action.
This season Zinchenko played only two matches for the club. The Ukrainian spent the match with Bournemouth (0:2) on the bench.
Arsenal will next play against Shakhtar in the third round of the Champions League. The fight in London will take place on October 22. Starts at 22:00 Kyiv time. The meeting will be officiated by a French team of judges led by Benoit Bastien.
