Carpathians won the derby with Rukh within the 10th round Ukrainian Premier League – 1:0.
In the first half, the teams played cautiously. The balance was upset by Jean Pedroso’s goal just before the break. The Brazilian defender of Karpat headed in Denis Miroshnichenko’s free kick.
In the second half of the meeting, Rukh began to play more actively, hoping to save the draw. Vitaly Ponomarev’s team had the advantage and threatened the opponents’ goal a lot; Karpaty responded with dangerous counterattacks. Vladislav Lupashko’s team managed to maintain the winning result.
Karpaty scored 12 points and occupy eighth place in the UPL. Rukh is one place higher with 13 points.
In the next round, Carpathians will host Obolon on October 26. Rukh will play at home against Chernomorets on October 25.
