Shakhtar CEO spoke about the development of young talents and transfer policy
General manager Shakhtar Sergei Palkin spoke about the work of the Miners Academy, the development of students and the club’s transfer policy.
“Players like Mudryk appear once every 10 years. Therefore, it is impossible to develop a player like Mikhail every year. In any case, we pay great attention to the development of our academy, the development of individual players.”
“We meet with the entire leadership of the academy every three months to discuss in detail all aspects of development, where we are, who we can bring, how things are going. And at the same time, we continue to work on the transfer market, trying to analyze not only the Brazilian market, but also concentrating on other markets, including the African continent.”
Mudryk moved from Shakhtar to Chelsea in January 2023 and signed an eight-and-a-half-year contract. The Blues agreed on the transfer of the Ukrainian for 100 million euros.
Shakhtar takes fourth place in the Ukrainian championship. The Pitmen will play their next match in the Champions League against Arsenal on October 22.
