Karpaty defeated Rukh in the first Lviv derby

The confrontation between the teams ended with a slight victory for the green and white.

On Monday, October 21, in the last match of the tenth round of the Ukrainian Premier League, the first Lviv derby took place, where Rukh hosted Karpaty.

Vladislav Lupashko’s team emerged victorious from the confrontation, defeating their opponent with a minimal advantage of 1:0.

The first half passed without particularly dangerous moments and shots, and Karpaty was the only one to hit the target before the break, as it became decisive for the whole match. In the 43rd minute, Denis Miroshnichenko crossed from a free kick, and Jean Pedroso put the ball into the net.

At the end of the half, the opponents still started a crush, as a result of which the referee gave a warning to the representatives of both teams.

In the second half of the match, Rukh acted more actively and surpassed his opponent statistically in possession and shots, but was unable to convert his advantage into results. After a cross from Vitaly Roman, the “green-whites” were helped by the goal post, and the finishing shots of Ilya Kvasnitsa, Evgeniy Pastukh after a corner kick and Mark Sapuga did not reach the goal.

Currently, Rukh is in seventh place in the UPL standings with 13 points. The Carpathians with 12 points are in a lower position.
