The tournament had an unexpected leader from the Principality itself.

The match in the third round of the main part of the Champions League ended at the Louis II Stadium, where Monaco defeated Red Star with a score of 5:1.

In the first half, the Serbian team tried to force the Monegasques to fight, but it ended in a total defeat.

In the 20th minute, Takumi Minamino gave the home team the lead. The visitors soon restored parity with a penalty, but Brel Embolo scored a goal in the locker room.

After the break, Adi Hutter’s team sent four more goals into the opponent’s goal. And although only three of them were counted, this did not prevent the “red whites” from winning a more than confident victory.

It is worth noting that this result allows Monaco (temporarily) to lead the overall table of the Champions League. The main club has seven points. But Crvena Zvezda is located at the very bottom of the table, without a single point.
