50 thousand people came to say goodbye to the professional career of the 39-year-old football player, who, moreover, witnessed a potential crime committed by the hero of the occasion.

According to Bild, German police are investigating Podolski’s actions after the match.

Lukash made an emotional speech, then he went up to the fan sector and lit a fire.

The fact is that in Germany it is forbidden to use pyrotechnics in stadiums it is considered a violation of administrative rules, which usually requires a fine and legal proceedings.

The head of the RheinEnergie stadium’s operations department, Volker Lange, who previously worked as police director, criticized Podolski’s actions and accused the player of being a “bad role model.”

“First, it is forbidden, secondly, he is a bad role model and thirdly: whoever takes responsibility at the club must be a role model – among these things.”

The game reportedly became more chaotic in combat. Bild claims that a Polish hooligan threatened a club employee with a knife, and that foreign stewards were allegedly insulted and threatened by the hooligans. During the riots, 14 police officers were injured.
