The Bulls lost the first half, but scored three times after the break
RB Leipzig won a strong-willed victory over Freiburg in the 8th round match of the German Bundesliga – 3:1.
The first half of the central match of the tour (the second and third German teams met) was an equal fight, with the guests attacking even more dangerously. As a result, the half was left to the team of Julian Schuster – in the 15th minute, Ritsu Doan scored from a pass from Vincenzo Grifo.
Leipzig turned the game around in the first 13 minutes of the second half. Both goals, which allowed Marco Rosa’s team to take the lead, were scored by defenders Willy Orban and Lutsharel Gertreida. They were assisted by Benjamin Henrichs and Lois Openda, respectively.
Freiburg actively resisted, but did not take advantage of their chances, and the Bulls got their opponent in the end: Openda, in addition to the assist, scored a goal.
The victory allowed Leipzig to take the lead in the Bundesliga. Tomorrow Bayern will be able to catch up with Rose’s team if they beat Bochum away. Freiburg is still third, but at the end of the round it risks falling lower.
In the next round, on November 2, the Bulls will have an away battle with Borussia Dortmund.
