Lupashko: Victory always makes you happy and recovery after it is faster

Lviv beat Obolon at home

Head coach Karpat Vladislav Lupashko was pleased with the victory over Obolon (1:0) in the 11th round match Ukrainian Premier League.

“Very good opponent. I told the Obolon coaches that what they have done over the past month is very significant progress. If they continue at this pace and management trusts and helps them, the Brewers will rise to the top.”

“It’s good that we won – it’s always pleasing and recovery always goes faster after a positive result, because psychology is such a thing that has a very significant impact on everything that happens in the world.”

“Kinareikin made a good debut. In general, we understand that it is more difficult for a goalkeeper to get into the game than for a field player. There were a few mistakes on his part, but he dealt with it and for that I can praise him for his psychological stability. We must not forget that he has not played for a very long time. We wanted to give him this time and celebrate how Yakov trains. We did it, and I think it was the right decision.”

“Before the cup match with Rukh, first of all, we need to recover. Rukh has a 24-hour advantage, because they played Chernomorets yesterday. And this plays a very important role. They also have a young team that recovers much faster. Rukh probably didn’t bet on the championship, they lost points yesterday, but that’s their business.”

Lupashko’s team scored the only goal in the middle of the first half. During a quick attack, Evgeniy Podlepenets passed the ball back from the baseline, and the Brazilian Bruninho, playing ahead, hammered the ball into the net. For the 24-year-old Karpaty newcomer, who played only his sixth match for Lviv, this goal became a premiere in Ukraine.

Karpaty are in seventh place in the UPL with 15 points. Lupashko’s team will play the next match with another Lviv team, Rukh, in the Ukrainian Cup on October 29.
