The visitors took the lead twice but missed three points
Bayer in the away match did not retain victory over Werder in the eighth round Bundesliga – 2:2.
The first half was an even battle with both sides having dangerous chances. Pharmacists opened the scoring in the 30th minute, Victor Boniface scored.
In the middle of the second half, the hosts were able to get even thanks to a goal from Marvin Duksha. However, just three minutes later, Felix Agu’s own goal put Bayer ahead again. And yet, in the 90th minute, Bremen snatched a draw after a goal from Romano Schmid.
Bayer is third in the Bundesliga with 15 points. Werder have three points less and are in ninth place in the German championship.
The teams will play their next matches in the German Cup. Bayer will host Elfersberg on October 29, Werder will meet Paderborn away on October 30.
