Ukrainian winger Chelsea Mikhail Mudrik remained in his team’s reserves for the home match of the 9th round nuclear submarine against Newcastle.
This season, Mudryk played 4 matches in the Premier League, and only one of them was in the starting lineup. The Ukrainian’s playing practice is usually limited to performances in the English League Cup and the Conference League. In the last round of the Premier League, Mudryk was not included in Chelsea’s squad for the match with Liverpool at all. Blues coach Enzo Maresca attributed this to “technical reasons.”
On Thursday, Mudryk played his best game this season – Chelsea defeated Panathinaikos (4:1) away in the Conference League, and the Ukrainian chalked up a goal and two assists. This goal was Mikhail’s first in the 2024/25 season.
