Zarya, with Budkivsky’s record and Yatsyk’s crazy shot, beat the Left Bank

The visiting Lugansk team was able to cope with the opponent, scoring one goal in each half.

On Sunday, October 27, Left Bank hosted Zarya in the match of the 11th round of the Ukrainian Premier League.

Zarya took a one-goal lead into stoppage time for the first half thanks to a penalty. After a controversial episode and a lengthy consultation with VAR regarding contact between Andrey Yakimov and Phillip Budkivsky in the Kiev penalty area, the referee still pointed to the spot. Budkivsky himself converted the penalty and became the record scorer for the Lugansk team in the UPL.

At the start of the second half of the match, Zarya doubled the lead after a superb long-range strike from 30 meters from Alexander Yatsyk.

The home team tried until the end of the match, but they failed to score a single goal.

Zorya, with 15 points, is in seventh place in the UPL standings. Left Bank is in 14th position with eight points.
