Zinchenko is in Arsenal’s reserves for the home match against Liverpool

The start of the match in London at the Emirates is 18:30 Kyiv time.

Ukrainian defender Arsenal Alexander Zinchenko remained in his team’s reserve for the ninth round match nuclear submarine against Liverpool.

The 27-year-old has yet to feature since recovering from injury in mid-October. The Ukrainian sat in the reserves in the matches against Bournemouth in the Premier League (0:2) and Shakhtar in the Champions League (1:0).

It is curious that today Riccardo Calafiori, who played on the left in defense against the Pitmen, is not in the lineup, but instead Mikel Arteta is releasing not Zinchenko, but Jurrien Timber. At the same time, defensive midfielder Thomas Partey will play on the right, and Ben White will be shifted to the center, in place of the suspended William Salib.

This season, Alexander played in only one of Arsenal’s two starting matches in the Premier League – he came out from the first minutes in the home match with Wolverhampton (2:0). In the third round against Brighton (1:1), the Ukrainian came on as a substitute at the end of the match.

Arsenal have 17 points after 8 rounds. Liverpool have four points more. Victory will allow the Reds to overtake Manchester City and regain leadership in the Premier League.

The start of the match in London at the Emirates is 18:30 Kyiv time.
