Hummels scored an own goal on his debut for Wolves
Fiorentina destroyed in my field Roma in the match of the 9th round of the Italian Serie A – 5:1.
Already by the 17th minute, the Violets led by two goals: Moise Kean opened the scoring, and soon Lucas Beltran converted a penalty. The Wolves seemed to return to the game at the end of the half (Kuadio Kone broke the score), but the hosts immediately restored the status quo – Keane scored a double from a pass from Edoardo Bove, a recent Roma player.
After the break, the nightmare for the Romans continued: Beauvais personally brought the matter to a rout, and soon Mario Hermoso left the guests in the minority, earning two cards in five minutes.
Ivan Juric had to release veteran Mats Hummels into the defense, who played in an official match for the first time in almost five months – the last time the German took the field was with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final. Mats “celebrated” his debut just four minutes later – he scored an own goal.
The entire match was played for Roma by Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbik, who had previously scored five goals in 11 matches of the season (including a winning one against Dynamo Kyiv in the League of Legends), but today could do nothing to help the team in crisis.
Roma extended its winless streak in the championship to three matches and remained in 11th place (already with a negative goal difference). Thanks to today’s triumph, Fiorentina climbed into the top 4.
In the next round, the Romans will host Torino, and the Violets will play away against Genoa. Both matches will take place on October 31.
