But not a single Real Madrid representative took to the stage to collect the award. This happened after the Madrid club decided to boycott the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
The organizers and hosts of the ceremony were not embarrassed and immediately moved on to the next part of the evening, not expecting anyone to show up.
