Previously, Real was recognized as the best club of this year, and Lunin entered the top 3 laureates of the Yashin Prize
Head coach of Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti became a laureate Johan Cruyff Trophy – prize best coach of 2024. The award was announced as part of the ceremony Ballon d’Or 2024.
Last season, the Italian led Real to victories in the Champions League, the championship and the Spanish Super Cup, and also won the UEFA Super Cup in the summer. In the voting, Carlo beat such opponents as Josep Guardiola (Manchester City), Xabi Alonso (Leverkusen), Luis de la Fuente (Spain national team), Lionel Scaloni (Argentina national team) and Gian Piero Gasperini (Atalanta).
Let us remind you that earlier the Madrid club was recognized as the best in the outgoing year, and the Ukrainian goalkeeper Blancos Andrey Lunin took third place in the voting for the best goalkeeper – the winner of the Yashin Trophy for the second year in a row was the Argentinean Emiliano Martinez.
The Women’s Johan Cruyff Trophy was won by an Englishwoman Emma Hayes. The experienced mentor led Chelsea to victory in the English Women’s Super League for the seventh time this year, and has been leading the US women’s national team since May.
The award ceremony for the 2024 Ballon d’Or winners continues at this moment. According to tradition, it takes place at the Chatelet Theater in Paris.
