Ukraine women’s national football team beat Turkey in the second leg of the first round of qualifying playoffs European Championship 2025. The nominally home match for the Ukrainian women took place in Chisinau at the Zimbru stadium.
Vladimir Pyatenko’s team took the lead in the 14th minute thanks to an own goal by Eda Karatas. In the middle of the first half, Lyubov Shmatko increased the blue-yellows’ advantage.
Türkiye closed the gap early in the second half, but the goal was overturned after a VAR review. As a result, the victory of the Ukrainian team is 2:0.
Let us remind you that the first match between Ukraine and Turkey ended in a draw – 1:1. Thus, Pyatenko’s team advanced to the second round of qualifying, where they will play with the winner of the Greece-Belgium confrontation (the first match was 0:0).
The matches of the second round of selection will be held from November 27 to December 3, and based on their results, direct participants in Euro 2025 will be determined. The draw for the final part of the European Championship will take place on December 16.
