The Ukrainians defeated their Turkish rivals and made it to the decisive stage of qualification.
On Tuesday, October 29, the Ukrainian women’s football team played the return match of the first round of the Euro 2025 qualifying playoffs against Turkey.
After a 1:1 draw in the first meeting, Vladimir Pyatenko’s team won the second match with a score of 2:0 and reached the decisive stage of qualifying for the continental championship.
The Ukrainians took the lead in the match in the 14th minute thanks to Eda Karatash’s own goal, and in the 34th minute Lyubov Shmatko doubled the advantage of the “blue-yellows”. In the second half of the match, the Turkish team managed to score, but the goal was canceled due to offside.
