Emmanuel Adebayor could be part of the Togolese opposition.
Former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor could be starting a new career.
According to The Sun, Adebayor has been asked to join the leading Togolese opposition party called Comite d’Action Pour Le Renouveau in French, or CAR for short – approx.
The head of CAR, Yavo Date, made the corresponding proposal after Emmanuel’s farewell in Togo’s capital, Lome.
According to Date, the former footballer is a symbol of perseverance and success and he needs to enter politics in his home country.
“It’s good that our brother Adebayor celebrated in his farewell match.
But now that he is done with sports, he has to get involved in politics.
And the ideal batch for him is the CAR batch. I invite him to join us.
With him on board we can continue the political struggle for independence in Togo.
In Adebayor we see an example of perseverance and success.
He embodies the ambition and dynamism that Togolese youth expect from their political leaders,” Yavo said.
Adebayor has yet to respond to the opposition politician’s suggestion.
