Midfielder Polesia Ruslan Babenko returned to training in the general group of the team. The player himself notes that he feels better with each training session.
“I don’t remember such a difficult period in my career. I worked a lot in the gym, devoted a lot of time to recovery, and we can say that my physical condition is not in the best condition. But with every workout I feel better. I really missed the matches. Firstly, I want to thank all the medical staff, physiotherapists, trainers with whom I underwent rehabilitation. I’m very glad to be back. The most important period of the first part of the season is ahead. I’m really looking forward to these matches and I hope that I can help the team.”
The last time the 32-year-old midfielder took to the field was on September 22 in a match with LNZ (1:1).
In total, Babenko took part in six UPL matches this season, recording one assist.
Polesie still does not know the bitterness of defeat in the championship – Imad Ashur’s team has 6 wins and 4 draws in 10 UPL rounds, which is enough to stay in 3rd place in the standings.
Polissya will play its next match tomorrow, October 30, in the 1/8 finals of the Ukrainian Cup against Krivbass. After which the Zhytomyr club will face Alexandria on the road on November 3 in the UPL.
