Philosophical thesis from the Gunners coach
Mentor Arsenal Mikel Arteta spoke about the role of the Ukrainian defender in the team Alexandra Zinchenko.
“Such decisions are always difficult to make. You accept them with the sole intention of getting the result you want. Alex has been proving for many years what he is supposed to do and that he is capable of doing it.”
Zinchenko has been playing for the London club since the summer of 2022. However, this season the Ukrainian is not a stable player in the main squad.
This season, Alexander played in only one of Arsenal’s two starting matches in the Premier League – he came out from the first minutes in the home match with Wolverhampton (2:0). In the third round against Brighton (1:1), the Ukrainian came on as a substitute at the end of the match.
Arteta’s team is in third place in the Premier League standings. Today, October 30, the Gunners will play Preston in the English League Cup.
