The fate of the meeting was decided by the only goal of Lassina Traore
The match took place in Lviv 1/8 finals of the Ukrainian Cup — Miner won a minimal victory over Zarya (1:0).
The only goal of the match was scored by Lassina Traore in the 21st minute. For Shakhtar’s Burkinabe striker, this was only the second goal this season.
Zarya finished the game outnumbered – in the 79th minute, Austrian defender Gabriel Esquinha received a red card for making a rough tackle in the center of the field.
Thus, Shakhtar became the sixth participant in the 1/4 finals of the Ukrainian Cup, joining Rukh, Oleksandriya, Bukovyna, Dynamo and Polissya. The remaining participants will be determined in the matches Veres – Obolon and Victoria – LNZ.
Shakhtar will play their next match on November 2 at home against Chernomorets, while Zorya will host LNZ on November 4.
