Shakhtar kicked Zarya out of the Ukrainian Cup with little success

Lassina Traore’s goal took the Pitmen into the quarterfinals of the tournament.

On Wednesday, October 30, Shakhtar hosted Zorya in Lviv as part of the 1/8 finals of the Ukrainian Cup.

Marino Pusic’s team managed to defeat their opponent and advance to the next round of the tournament, winning a minimal victory with a score of 1:0.

The decisive factor in the confrontation was Lassina Traore’s goal midway through the first half. In the 21st minute, the Shakhtar striker completed a pass on the right from Pedrinho in the penalty area.

At the start of the second half, the Pitmen could have doubled their lead and sent the ball into the opponent’s goal, but Kevin’s goal was disallowed due to a controversial offside. Zarya finished the match with ten men after Gabriel Esquinha received a straight red card in the 79th minute for diving at the feet of Artem Bondarenko.
