The Spanish La Liga has asked the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to postpone the matches of the 12th day of the Spanish championships “Valencia” – “Real” and “Villarreal” – “Rayo Vallecano” due to the consequences of flooding in the region, according to the La Liga Ligues website.
As indicated, La Liga took this decision at the request of the clubs, “taking into account the current situation”, which has left many injured. La Liga also requested the postponement of three matches of Segunda – Castellon – Ferrol, Eldense – Huesca and Levante – Malaga.
Previously, the RFEF postponed two Copa del Rey matches involving Valencian teams due to the effects of Hurricane Dana and flooding in the region. We are talking about the matches scheduled for October 30: Parla – Valencia and Pontevedra – Levante.
Spanish authorities reported that due to unfavorable weather conditions, eastern and southern Spain were affected and rivers overflowed their banks due to the rain. According to media reports, the death toll in the autonomous community of Valencia stands at 70.
