On Friday, April 1, the draw ceremony for the 2022 World Cup took place in Doha (Qatar).
The Ukrainian national team, which has not yet completed the playoffs of European qualification due to the military invasion of Russia, still took part in the draw along with two other contenders for this place – the national teams of Scotland and Wales.
According to the results of the draw, Ukraine fell to group B. The opponents of the “blue-yellows”, in case they get into the 2022 World Cup, are:
- England;
- Iran;
- USA.
Note that the 2022 World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022.
The match between Ukraine and Scotland is expected to take place in June. The winner of this pair will play in Wales for the right to participate in the latter part of the 2022 World Cup.
