In the tenth round match English Championship Manchester City unexpectedly lost away Bournemouth with the score 1:2.
The hosts shocked the reigning champion already at the start of the game – Antoine Semenyo scored in the 9th minute. Manchester City failed to come back until the end of the first half, and conceded again in the second half – this time Evanilson scored for Bournemouth. The townspeople managed to win one goal back thanks to the efforts of Joshko Guardiola at the end of the game, but they were not enough for more.
Ukrainian defender of Bournemouth Ilya Zabarny came out in the starting lineup for his team and traditionally played the entire game on the field.
After this match, Manchester City lost its lead in the Premier League standings and is now in second place. Bournemouth moved up to eighth position.
In the next round of the English Championship, Bournemouth will play against Brentford, and Manchester City will play against Brighton.
