The miners beat Polesie and rose to 3rd place in the standings
The 12th round match ended in Lviv UPL — Miner defeated Chernomorets (2:1).
Marino Pusic’s team opened the scoring in the 17th minute thanks to a precise strike from Alexander Zubkov. Almost immediately, the Odessa residents restored the status quo – the score was equalized by Shakhtar graduate Artem Gabelok.
The miners regained the lead before the break – Artem Bondarenko scored the sixth goal this season.
The score remained 2:1 until the final whistle. Thanks to this victory, Shakhtar bypassed Polesie and rose to 3rd place in the standings (the Zhytomyr club has a match in reserve and will play it tomorrow against Alexandria). Chernomorets is 10th in the table – Alexander Babich’s team has 12 points.
The Odessa team will play their next match on November 8 at home against Vorskla. Shakhtar, in turn, will face Young Boys on November 6 in the Champions League, after which they will play against Zorya on November 10 in the UPL.
