The Seagulls won the first half, but Slot’s team managed to turn the tide of the match
Liverpool made a comeback and won over Brighton in the home match of the 10th round English Premier League – 2:1.
The Seagulls managed to excel in the opening of the match, taking advantage of a failure in the opponent’s defense. Right back Ferdi Kadıoğlu, a summer recruit for Fabian Hurtzeler’s team, scored his first Premier League goal.
Overall, the Underdog played a strong half, in no way inferior to the champion fighter. But after the break the Reds stepped up the pressure and it eventually paid off.
The guests managed to maintain their minimal advantage until the middle of the second half. And then Arne Slot’s team struck a double blow, reversing the game. The equalizing goal was scored by Cody Gakpo, and three minutes later Mohamed Salah scored his 16th scoring action of the season. One of Slot’s substitutions also worked – an assist from Curtis Jones.
Liverpool managed to bring the match to a victorious end and returned to the leaders of the Premier League. In a parallel match, Bournemouth and Ukrainian defender Ilya Zabarny unexpectedly stopped Manchester City.
Slot’s team will play their next match on Tuesday, November 5, against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League. Four days later the Reds also play Aston Villa at home. Brighton will host Man City on the same day.
