Chernomorets lost minimally to the Miners in the 12th round of the UPL
Head coach Chernomorets Alexander Babich was pleased with the performance of his team in the match with Miner (1:2) in the 12th round Ukrainian Premier League.
“I think Yanakov did a very good job. In principle, the whole team worked hard. By the way, today we played like Shakhtar against Arsenal. We were Shakhtar, and Shakhtar were Arsenal. We played a lot against the ball, we restructured a lot in defense. Of course, there were moments, but I think that the game was so nervous, until the last minute we tried to at least get a draw.”
“I am grateful to the guys, because they rebuilt and made sure they were on the safe side. Yes, Shakhtar had moments, but after such matches we can see our mistakes, what to work on, we can also see our moments that we are developing, which still need to be worked out in attack.”
“First of all, of course, if there was a draw, I would be more pleased. We earned such a first half and such a simple corner, after which we conceded the ball when our player headed the ball in a simple situation for a corner – and got the second ball. I’m happy with the whole game because I saw that it was difficult for the guys, but we should have and could have played calmer with the ball. There are, of course, a lot of mistakes in simple situations.”
“But the opponent’s level is, of course, better, here the Brazilians take the ball on their noses and calmly lower it to the ground. This is the level. But we could play through discipline, through the correct organization of the game, first of all, in restructuring in defense. I’m happy with the character, happy with the guys. I thanked them. Let’s move on, our next match is on Friday, Vorskla. Therefore, you need to recover very well and prepare as well.”
Chernomorets is in tenth place in the UPL with 12 points. In the next match, the Sailors will host Vorskla on November 8.
