Diego Simeone’s team scored a goal in each half
The match of the 12th round of the Spanish La Liga — Atlético beat at home Las Palmas (2:0).
The first goal of the match was scored by the son of Atlético coach Diego Simeone, Giuliano, in the 37th minute. For the 21-year-old forward, this goal was the first in his career with the Madrid club. In the 84th minute, substitute Alexander Serlot doubled Matrasnikov’s lead.
Thanks to this victory, Atlético moved up to 3rd place in the standings with 23 points. Las Palmas is still in the relegation zone – the club from the Canary Islands has only 9 points in its account.
Atlético will play their next match on November 6 in the Champions League against PSG, followed by an away match against Mallorca on November 10 in La Liga. Las Palmas, in turn, will play away against Rayo Vallecano in the next round on November 8.
